The Peshawari chappal is the footwear of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: a broad leather T-strap over an open toe and heel, traditionally stitched by hand from buffalo or cowhide. Ours are made in Peshawar by craftsmen who have worked the same patterns for generations — no glued soles, no synthetic linings, no factory shortcuts.
Every pair starts as a single hide. The leather is cut to the pattern, shaped over a wooden last, stitched with waxed thread and finished with a hand-burnished edge. That process is slower than pressing a sole onto an upper, which is why a genuine handmade chappal softens to the shape of your foot instead of cracking at the toe after a season.
We stock classic brown Peshawari chappals as well as Zulmi-style pairs with a heavier sole, from PKR 4,500. Sizes run from 6 to 12 UK; if you are between sizes, choose the larger one — leather gives slightly but never stretches enough to fix a tight strap.

A single sole is lighter and closer to the traditional chappal; a double sole lasts longer on rough ground and suits daily wear in cities. Both are stitched, not glued.
Wear them indoors for two or three evenings with socks. The leather softens over the instep and around the heel strap within a week — do not soak them.
Vegetable-tanned hides vary slightly in tone, so no two pairs are identical. Expect the brown to darken gently with sun and use.
Handmade Peshawari chappals at Frontier Shoes start at PKR 4,500 and go up for double-sole and premium leather styles. Prices include nationwide delivery and cash on delivery is available.
Yes, but the leather has no elastic give. If you normally wear a half size, order the next full size up and let the strap settle with wear.
Both are Peshawari-style chappals. The Kaptaan (or Kaptaan kheri) has a sharper, more formal cut with a closed feel and is often worn with shalwar kameez at weddings and formal occasions; the classic Peshawari is the everyday open-strap version.
